Georgia lost to Auburn at home in its last game, so the Bulldogs come in after a week off and with something to prove. Florida won at Texas, but it doesn’t know yet which quarterback it’ll have. Our ratings have Georgia by more than two touchdowns. Eleven and a half isn’t enough. Go Dawgs.

The Matchup

  • Georgia’s one bad day. The No. 3 Bulldogs are 6-1, with wins of 45-17 at Arkansas, 41-13 over Oklahoma and 20-17 at Alabama. The only loss was 27-24 to Auburn.
  • Florida’s up and down. The No. 17 Gators are 5-2. They lost 45-17 at Missouri and 38-19 to South Carolina, then won 27-24 at Texas.
  • Florida’s quarterbacks. Aaron Philo missed the Texas game with a shoulder injury. He and Tramell Jones Jr. are both listed as questionable, and coach Jon Sumrall says he expects both to be available.
  • Kickoff. 3:30 PM ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, on ABC.

Injuries

Georgia is without running back Dante Dowdell, linebacker Amaris Williams, safety Tyriq Green and receiver Thomas Blackshear. Safety KJ Bolden, running back Chauncey Bowens and receiver Isiah Canion are questionable. For Florida, receiver Bailey Stockton and linebacker Jaden Robinson are doubtful, and running back Duke Clark is questionable.

The Number

Our ratings, on a neutral field, make Georgia about a 16-point favorite. The board says eleven and a half. That’s one of our bigger gaps of the day.

The honest case against: rivalry games get weird, Florida just won in Austin, and Georgia’s last game was a loss at home. It’s a Game Pick, a lean, and like every pick we post, it lands on the receipts page win or lose. Our college ratings haven’t beaten the lines in testing, so every college pick is a lean.

Bottom Line

Take Georgia minus eleven and a half at -110 at FanDuel. Lean. The better team, after a week off, against a team with quarterback questions. Go Dawgs.

Lines as posted Friday morning. Injury news for Saturday is expected, not confirmed, so check before kickoff. We don’t post college player props.
