New York’s start. The Knicks lost their first three, then beat Detroit 111-97 and won 133-127 in Chicago on Wednesday. Jalen Brunson is averaging 25.8 points, and Karl-Anthony Towns has 21.8 points and 13.8 rebounds a game.
Philadelphia’s start. The 76ers are 4-1, and the only loss was 106-93 at home to Detroit. Tyrese Maxey is averaging 28.4 points, and Joel Embiid 21.5 in four games.
LeBron James in a Sixers jersey. He’s averaging 15.5 points and 6.8 assists.
Rest. Both teams played Wednesday and had Thursday off.

Injuries

Jaylen Brown (knee) is questionable for Philadelphia. He’s averaging 20.6 points. Jabari Walker is out, and Dominick Barlow and Ariel Hukporti are out long-term. New York is without Jose Alvarado (ankle).
