Pick locks at 7:10PM ET
Memphis went 25-57 last season and is 4-0 now. Portland is 3-0 too, but it just lost Shaedon Sharpe for about six months. Seven and a half is a lot of points for an unbeaten team. Grizzlies.
The Matchup
- Memphis can’t lose. The Grizzlies beat Utah 123-103, won 111-108 in Golden State, won 123-112 in Sacramento and won 110-105 in Utah on Monday. Ty Jerome is averaging 29.8 points, with a 45-point night in there.
- Portland can’t either. The Blazers beat Phoenix 124-83, won 128-120 in Sacramento and won 136-129 over the Lakers on Tuesday. Deni Avdija is averaging 22.3 points and Damian Lillard 21.7.
- Rest. Neither team played Wednesday.
- Tip-off. 10:00 PM ET at the Moda Center.
Injuries
Portland is without Shaedon Sharpe, who has a torn meniscus and is expected to miss about six months. Two-way guard Chris Youngblood (ankle) is out too. Memphis has nobody on the injury report.
The Number
Last season’s scoring margins, at half weight this early, plus home court make Portland about a four-point favorite. The board says seven and a half. Memphis was bad last year, so if anything, our ratings are behind on the Grizzlies, not ahead of them.
The honest case against: Portland has Lillard, Avdija and Ja Morant, and on a good night it can score with anyone. It’s a Game Pick, a lean, and like every pick we post, it lands on the receipts page win or lose.
Bottom Line
Take the Grizzlies plus seven and a half at -105 at FanDuel. Lean. An unbeaten team getting more than two buckets. Grit and grind.

Same-Game Parlay
One read in two legs. Jerome is the scorer in Memphis right now, and rookie Cameron Boozer has been doing the dirty work more than the scoring. If Jerome carries the load and Memphis stays close, both legs land. Every leg needs the same game, so this is one position, not two bets.
