Breakfast football from Paris. Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers have won two straight, and the Saints have given up 178 points in six games. I’ll lay the field goal with Pittsburgh. Here we go.

The Matchup

  • Pittsburgh is 4-2. The Steelers beat Indianapolis 34-22 and won 26-19 in Tampa in their last two. Rodgers has 1,487 yards, 12 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.
  • New Orleans can’t stop people. The Saints are 2-4 and have allowed 178 points, tied for the most in the league. They give up 138 rushing yards a game, third most.
  • The Saints can score, though. Tyler Shough has 12 touchdown passes, and they put up 34 on the Giants last week.
  • Weather and kickoff. 9:30 AM ET at Stade de France, on NFL Network. The forecast is wind around 16 mph sustained with gusts in the 30s (Open-Meteo, checked Friday 5:04 PM ET), which clears our 15 mph wind line. We recheck Saturday night. The Saints are the designated home team.

The Number

The board has Pittsburgh by three on a neutral field. The Steelers are the better team on both sides of the ball, and the Saints’ run defense is a problem Jaylen Warren can exploit.

It’s a Game Pick, a lean. Our NFL side numbers only showed an edge in Weeks 1 through 6, so from Week 7 on every side is a lean, and like every pick we post, it lands on the receipts page win or lose. The honest case against: a long trip and odd kickoff time make these games weird, and Shough can keep the Saints in a shootout.

The Wind Under

This is our Featured pick in this game. When the forecast has sustained wind of 15 mph or more at kickoff and the total hasn’t already dropped two points from its opener, we take the Under. The total opened at 44.5 and is still 44.5, so the wind isn’t priced in. We’d play it down to 43.5. We recheck the forecast Saturday night; if it drops below 15 mph, we pull the pick and it isn’t graded. Paris isn’t covered by the National Weather Service, so this forecast comes from Open-Meteo.

In-Game Bets

  • If the wind is howling early. Expect a low-scoring game, and don’t chase points live.
  • If Pittsburgh leads at halftime. Leave it. A lean doesn’t need a second bet.
  • If the Saints jump out early. Do nothing. The Steelers have won with defense all year.

Bottom Line

Take the Steelers minus three at . Lean. The better team, against a defense that can’t stop the run. Steelers.

Same-Game Parlay

One read in two legs. If Pittsburgh covers, Warren is probably running all over a Saints defense that’s given up 138 rushing yards a game. Every leg needs the same game, so this is one position, not two bets.
